How to Create a Smart Link in TrackOG (3-Step Wizard)
Before you begin
- Offers you want to include must be Active
- Smart Link access must be enabled for your affiliates if they'll generate links (Settings > Affiliates)
Where to find it
Smart Offers > Smart Link > Action > Add New
Step 1: Details (Basic Information)
- Name* — label for this Smart Link (shown in reports)
- Description — visible to affiliates in their panel
- Trigger Affiliate Postback — toggle on to notify affiliates when conversions fire through this Smart Link
- Type* — currently Manual (set percentage split between offers)
- Add Offer — search and select offers, set Percentage % for each
- All percentages must total 100%
- Click Distribute Evenly to auto-split equally
- Watch the Smart Link Summary panel on the right — it updates live as you fill in the form
- Click Next Step
Step 2: Filters / Targeting Rules
Set rules for which traffic this Smart Link applies to:
- Allowed / Blocked Publishers (affiliates)
- Geo — countries
- OS — operating system
- Device — desktop, mobile, tablet
Traffic not matching your filters goes to the fallback URL (Step 3).
Step 3: Settings / Configuration
Set a Fallback URL — where traffic goes if no offer matches (e.g. your homepage or a generic landing page).
Click Save.
After saving: generate the link
Open the Smart Link and generate the tracking URL. Share this with your affiliates — TrackOG handles all routing automatically.
Monitor performance
Reports > Smart Link Report — performance per Smart Link and per destination offer.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Percentages must add to exactly 100%. What if they don't? A: TrackOG will not save until the total equals 100%. Use Distribute Evenly to auto-balance.
Q: Can I add or remove offers from a Smart Link after creating it? A: Yes — edit the Smart Link and update the offer list and percentages.
Q: My traffic keeps going to the fallback URL. Why? A: Your targeting rules in Step 2 may be too restrictive. Review and loosen the filters.
