Moving to TrackOG from Another Platform
Switching tracking platforms is significant — but with the right plan you can migrate without losing data, breaking links or missing conversions.
Golden rule: run both platforms in parallel
Never switch abruptly. Run TrackOG and the old platform simultaneously for at least 7 days to verify TrackOG is recording correctly before turning off the old system.
Step 1: Set up TrackOG foundations
- Configure custom domains (Settings > Domains)
- Set panel branding (Settings > Panel)
- Set up SMTP (Settings > SMTP)
- Invite team members (Team Members)
Step 2: Import or recreate advertisers
Use Offer Integration if your old platform is supported (HasOffers, Affise, Everflow, Swaarm) — this imports advertisers and offers automatically.
Otherwise: export advertiser list from old platform → create them in Advertisers > Create Advertiser.
Step 3: Import or recreate offers
Option A — Offer Integration (fastest): Integrations > Offer Integration — TrackOG pulls offer catalogue automatically.
Option B — Manual: Recreate offers in TrackOG. Focus on top 20 offers first (they drive most volume).
Critical: Update each offer's Advertiser Offer URL to include {click_id} from TrackOG tracking links.
Step 4: Migrate affiliates
Create affiliates in TrackOG and inform them of: new login URL, new tracking link format.
Step 5: Update postback URLs
For each advertiser:
- Generate TrackOG postback URL for their offers
- Share with their technical team
- Run both old and new postbacks simultaneously during parallel run
- Verify conversions arrive in TrackOG before turning off old postback
Step 6: Macro mapping
| Platform | Their macro | TrackOG macro |
|---|---|---|
| Trackier | {click_id} | {click_id} |
| Affise | {clickid} | {click_id} |
| Offer18 | {tid} | {click_id} |
| HasOffers | {transaction_id} | {click_id} |
Step 7: Parallel run (7–14 days)
Compare click volumes daily. Verify conversion counts match (1-5% discrepancy is normal). Check postback logs in both platforms.
Step 8: Final cutover
- Inform affiliates to use TrackOG links exclusively
- Remove old platform postbacks from advertiser systems
- Set old platform to read-only for historical reference
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will historical data transfer to TrackOG? A: Historical data stays in your old platform. TrackOG starts recording from activation. Export important reports before shutting down the old system.
Q: How long does a full migration take? A: With Offer Integration: 3-5 days setup + 7-14 days parallel running. Without auto-import: add time for manual offer creation.
Q: Conversions clicked on old platform but converting after switch — what happens? A: During parallel run, keep both postback URLs active. Some conversions may need manual entry in TrackOG via Offline Conversions.
